Coming Home

......i’ll be glad to come home to civilization.....it seems no matter where I go, I find drama in my life...need to escape the cruise ship before it swallows me up...

And that is what I wrote to a friend today.  Too many meals and too many bad lectures read from the podium, too many rich folks saying whatever they want to the staff and to me.  Like in other organizations, some of the staff do their work, and some don't.  The lower level staff from the Philippines and India are of course wonderful and conscientious, polite and genuinely engaging.  The guests are a hodgepodge of Americans and Aussies.....a sprinkling of others like Brits and Swiss.  Good folks enjoying their retirements after working hard all of their lives, others...widows and a lot of solo men loitering around the bar drinking, smoking and enjoying each others company.  Its an easy life; lots of activities for everyone to do....some would consider excessive and decadent...but enough is enough!

Some interesting places in Japan, Russia and now in Alaska.  My last day today in Homer.....then from Homer to Seward and to home.

i have lots of picture to share but will need to upload them when i get home.  Some funny pictures and of course a few pretty girls on the dance floor at my side to maintain my facade....
