Pacific Sea Nettle

This beautiful creature conjures the imagination of a colorful jelly fish; one of the scariest and yet one of the most beautiful creatures on earth. Seen here in living form at the Georgia Aquarium, it evokes curiosity and awe as its delicate, golden brown, flowing and pulsating movements instantly mesmerizes the observer. The soft and delicate tissues of this creature create an illusion of vulnerability that cloaks its venomous nature, a natural defense from its predators. How else would the sea nettle survive if not for this capacity to incapacitate. But its not the nature of this beast that was of interest to me, it was the beauty, grace and its flowing dance of life.
