These were taken by Gerri's artistic eyes. Simply said, Norway has remained the most beautiful country in the world, even as I recall it from my travels in the 60's. The down side is that it has gone from affordable to outrageously expensive (it costs $2 to pee). And my memories of the most beautiful quaint, idyllic city, Bergen have been replaced by a modern day tourist attraction.
A land of tulips, fjords, waterfalls, mountains and lakes and glaciers, trolls, salmon, strawberries and rasberries, and now tourists. A land of endless spectacular views that are surreal, pristine and spotless.
But is also seems like everywhere we go, the Norwegians are nowhere to be found. From aloof to bordering on unpleasant, the citizens of Norway do not really want to engage tourists in any way unless they are tour guides. Maybe if my country were invaded to such an extent, I would feel the same way.
