As I started the day, as always, I quickly glanced the CNN website to see if the world was still around. This morning seemed particularly laden by news of violence....I was particularly upset with the story on knockout game. Is there no other news that people want to hear? Doesn't news of violence spur new violence through copy-cats learning the latest approach to getting CNN's attention. Its probably better knowing that today's youth do not spend their time reading CNN, but then again, many of them are focusing their cerebral circuitry on honing violence skills playing the latest Play Station video games like:
- Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Dead Pool
- Ryse: Son of Rome
- Saints Row IV
Are these games or are they Al Qaeda training camps? Not only do we have to worry about power hungry despots hanging on for dear life while committing horrendous crimes against humanity, we have to really worry about the endless stream of potential violence recruits through common daily acts of sanctioned living. To be sure, as the youth of this country are permeated more and more by fantasy in their lives, in how they relate to one another in person, and in their Facebook accounts and other social media, reality becomes a truly blurring concept. And then all you have to do after some inconsequential happening sets you off - is go upstairs and find that shotgun or pistol hidden away to fend off home intruders..........
