A Special Date

Looking forward to Tuesday for a Special Date
With my friend and frequent roommate

No its not for drinks and dinner
Even though that would be a winner

Neither is it to a movie
Knowing that would be mighty groovy

Surprise, it's a colonoscopy date
Because at our age, this is our fate

Off to Queens Hospital Outpatient Surgery Suite
Think it's located on Punch"bowl" Street

Together we will take some pleasure
Of course with measure
While the Gastroenterologist
Looks for the treasure

Adenomas, polyps, other growths or cancers
Anything that may grow in these adult dancers

But first we will need to purge
The laxative solution will turn on the urge

The laxative solution is decent I can divulge
Not like Go Litely, that terrible sludge

To keep our bowels free of bulk
We will sit together starving, pooping
While trying not to sulk

Jello, consume, popsicles and tea
Nothing RED for the Doc to see
Just clear liquids before the colon - scope
After, steak and salad I do hope

We want our bowels nice and clean
The cleanest bowels he has ever seen

Then Fentanyl and Versed will be injected
Our worries will magically be rejected
Even when our derrieres' are inspected

We can share the Solution
Minus the dilution
With little intrusion
To reduce the pollution

My turn is first
She goes next
We have followed word for word
What is written in the text

Into the anus, the snake will travel
We wish for the large bowl to passively unravel

We feel confident that it will
To make it happen
We will lie still
But if it no can happen, huh!
We will reject the Doctor's bill

The colonoscopy is something we must eventually do
Everyone over 50
Even you

But its much more fun if you do it together
You will always remember this date
Forever and forever!
